Mafalda Millies is a film and art director living in New York City. Since graduating with an MA in Political Science from the University of Texas, the native German has directed documentaries, short films, music videos and performances. Her work most notably includes the performance "Virtually There" (2016), which premiered at Mana Contemporary; the shortfilm “Darknet Delivery” (2014), nominated at SXSW and SunValley Film Festival; “My name is Rashida” (2015); MSMR’s “Wrong Victory” (2016) music video, nominated at Austin Music Video Festival and U.K. Music Video Awards. She also contributed to Jehane Noujaim’s Academy Award-nominated documentary “The Square” (2013).
In her work she aims for timelessness, taking light, costume, and stage inspiration from the worlds of theatre, photography, art and film. Her goal is to create videos and performances that introduce diverse mediums from projections, music and dance, to sculpture, text and new media.
Mafalda is currently the Creative Director at C3 Artist Management, where she works with over 30 artists including The Strokes, NAS, The Head and The Heart and Future.
